Product plug: Mesoestetic

EA Aesthetics is pleased to retail Mesoestetic cosmeceuticals in our Cairns clinic. Mesoestetic is a leading skincare range developed in Spain. They are a family-run business of pharmacists who have been pioneers in the skincare field for over 35 years. Their product is sophisticated, elegant, and backed by science. Their formulations are designed for dermal delivery- meaning they actually penetrate your skin barrier and work to make improvements.

They formulate beautiful cleansers for all skin types. We have a cleanser to suit all skins from sensitive to acne-prone and everything in between. The Brightening Foam Cleanser is great for so many of our Cairns’ skins- a gel foam that lathers nicely to remove dirt and grime, with added AHAs for brightening and refining properties.

Their range of exfoliators are modern and sleek. Gentle AHAs for even the most sensitive skins (no harsh scrubs here), and more potent AHAs for those who can handle a bit more. We find our clients will use these products differently depending on their skin. Some people will exfoliate daily with no issues, while others may only do it a few times a week. The Brightening Peel Booster is a popular choice here in Cairns because of its additional pigment-brightening properties.

Masks are a great product for anyone who likes doing a mini treatment at home, and they make great gifts. Mesoestetic have developed a mask with every skin in mind. We love the Pure Renewing Mask for our acne and breakout skins. It contains salicylic acid and kaolin clay to absorb excess oils, as well as cellulose granules for a gentle surface exfoliation. We also can’t get enough of their Hyrdavital Mask for dehydrated and dry skins. Hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5 and argan oil are uber nourishing- great for when you feel you need that extra pick-me-up.

We especially LOVE our Mesoestetic serums. There are only 3, but they cover all bases! AOX Ferulic is a potent vitamin C packed with antioxidants. A must-have for brightening, pigment and collagen. HA Densimatrix is a hyaluronic acid serum that gives so much hydration. Skin looks plumper in a matter of weeks. It has been shown to increase skin hydration by 5 times, as well as improve elastin stores by 45% – wow! Finally, we have the Post-Peel 1% Retinol Concentrate- super lightweight and smooth. Vitamin A is essential for collagen production and has been shown to clinically reverse the signs of aging. This serum contains added goodies like Centella Asiatica for healing and regeneration, and vitamins E and B5 to combat trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL).

Finding the right moisturiser is so important. For our Cairns’ clients, it needs to be just right considering we live in such a humid client. Our most popular cream is the Hydravital Light- it readily absorbs but gives all-day hydration. We have an oil-free preparation (Acne One) for oilier skins, and a nourishing richer cream (Hydra-Vital Factor K) for those that need a bit more. We also love Couperend for those skins prone to flushing and sensitivity.

Last but not least Mesoestetic have developed the most beautiful sunscreens. They give superior UV protection without compromising on texture. They are all SPF50+ and packed with antioxidants for additional protection. We stock Melan 130 which is light weight and tinted to blend skin tone imperfections as well as a Sun Stick for spot treating pigmented areas. Our most popular sunscreen is the Light Water Veil which is so ultralight, you won’t even feel like you’re wearing sunscreen.

We run a popular deal with our Mesoestetic products – buy 5 and receive 3 free peels – valued at $300! We see incredible improvements in our clients’ skin with Mesoestetic homecare and chemical peels.

Mesoestetic is a premium cosmeceutical skincare that offers a full range of products to suit all skins. We love using them and recommending them to our clients. Pop in and see the team at EA Aesthetics Cairns cosmetic injectables clinic to see which products would suit you best.  We know you’ll love them as much as we do.

Pixel peel (tretinoin mask peel)

1. What is tretinoin?

Tretinoin is the strongest form of topical Vitamin A on the market and requires a prescription from a doctor.

2. What benefits does tretinoin offer the skin?

Vitamin A is the first topical vitamin approved to reduce wrinkles and have antiaging effects that changes the appearance of the skin. Tretinoin is the most effective topical agent to slow the aging process- it induces many positive effects on skin cells:

  • Regulate cell processes
  • Promote cellular proliferation
  • Strengthen the epidermis’ protective function
  • Reduce trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL)
  • Protect and synthesise collagen (anti-wrinkle)
  • Pigment inhibitor

These positive effects translate to younger, healthier skin that looks and feels better. Your skin will be firmer to the touch, will have less fine lines, be more resilient, and have less pigmentation. Sun damage will be reduced for a more even skin tone with a radiant complexion.

3. What are tretinoin peels?

Tretinoin peels at EA Aesthetics are a unique mask peel which we call our Pixel peel. We get the peel formulated from a compounding pharmacist and we order it for our clients with a prescription from our doctor. Like other stronger chemical peels, your skin will experience peeling and flaking from our tretinoin peel. As mentioned above, tretinoin regulates many cell processes for healthier, more balanced skin. These processes include regulating cell proliferation and turnover. This means that by applying a tretinoin peel, your skin will be triggered to turnover (exfoliate) old cells to be replaced with new, healthy cells (proliferation). This results in healthier skin and the reversal of sun damage. You will also receive the added benefits of firming and strengthening your skin as the tretinoin remodels deeper skin layers.

4. How many peels do I need?

This depends on your skin and what you are trying to achieve. If you are having a series of tretinoin peels only, we recommend 5 every 4-6 weeks. If you are having a combined treatment plan of tretinoin peels alongside laser/ IPL/ PRP etc, we may recommend less. Results from these peels will continue to develop for 6 months after your last peel. You will notice immediate improvements from the skin being exfoliated- a brighter, smoother, more radiant complexion. This will be followed by cumulative effects of a firmer skin with less fine lines and pigmentation.

5. Is EA Aesthetics the only cosmetic clinic in Cairns to offer this treatment?

Yes. We love the effects of vitamin A on the skin and understand the benefits of this unique peel. You need a prescription for this treatment so it is not your average cosmetic peel. We see great improvements in sun damage and aged skin after a course of tretinoin peels. If you are interested in what results tretinoin peels may offer you, come and see the team at EA Aesthetics Cairns cosmetic injectables clinic for a consultation. FAQs: Cosmetic Tattooing

1. What’s the difference between Micro-blading, Ombre Powder Brows, Combination Brows and Classic Cosmetic Tattooing?

Micro-blading: involves your technician making small surface incisions in your skin with a hand tool. These incisions are designed to look like individual hairs in your eyebrows. The ink is then applied into these hair stroke incisions.

Ombre Powder Brows: This is the most popular treatment and gives a natural, subtle shading of the brow- great for filling in gaps! There are no harsh lines and your technician can even put in pixilated dots of ink that mimic the look of brow powder.

Combination Brows: This is a combo of micro-blading and ombre powder brows.

Classic Cosmetic Tattoo: the first-generation tattooing. Great for people with no brow hair or who want very defined brows with staying power.

2. How long Cosmetic Tattooing last?

Micro-blading: 8-12 months. 2 years maximum

Ombre powder brows: 2-4 years, with a colour boost every 12 months

Combination brows: 2-4 years with a colour boost every 12 months

Classic cosmetic tattoo: dependent on your skin and how it reacts with the ink. Up to 2 years. It will then start to fade, and in some cases oxidize (change to a greenish colour).

** We do not use any inks that oxidize, they simply fade out with time.

** Every person’s skin is different and therefore ink-fading times vary.

3. What’s involved?

You’ll start with a consultation with Gemma who will talk you through the ins and outs of Cosmetic Tattooing. Together you can decide what treatment is going to be the best to help you achieve the look you are after. At this time Gemma will organize your prescription numbing cream. You will then book in your upcoming appointment. After most services you come back for a touch up appointment around 4-6 weeks.

4. Is there much downtime?

Not at all, it is minimal, about 7 days. You will be fully healed in 4 weeks. You can expect some light scabbing and flaking. You will also have a degree of redness and swelling for the first 48 hours.

5. Does it hurt?

No, cosmetic tattooing is very tolerable. We apply 2 layers of numbing cream, one of which contains epinephrine which means you will feel nothing.

Gemma is available for Cosmetic Tattoo consultations this week at EA Aesthetics cosmetic injectables clinic in Cairns City. She offers all of the above-mentioned brow services, as well as Lash Enhancements, Lip Liner and Lip Blush Tattooing. Message us or call 0480 345 479 and ask for Gemma.

Redness & Capillaries

We have clients here in Cairns that complain of unsightly visible vessels on the face and chest. The most effective way we can address your redness and visible capillaries is with our Nordlys Ellipse IPL by Candela Medical. Powerful narrowband light is pulsed into your skin to remove unwanted red tones. This is especially relieving for patients that flush easily. Some skins are prone to redness or considered to be sensitive/ rosacea. IPL treatment is excellent for these skin types. The treatments are safe and very effective when performed correctly. Say goodbye to unwanted redness in your skin!

What causes redness and visible capillaries?

Well, for some people it is just the way their skin is. Pale skins often show up more reds than darker skins. Some people have clinical rosacea which flares up from time to time. Other people may have redness from sun damage. Others may find their skin has reddened over time from harsh facial scrubs and other trauma. The great news is that the team at EA Aesthetics has the treatments needed to resolve these issues for you. These light-based treatments help give you a more even skin tone that is less sensitive and prone to flushing. To support the results, we recommend and retail cosmeceutical products that help to strengthen vein walls and support your skin’s vascular system. We especially love Mesoestetic Couperend Moisturiser. It contains soothing agents Centella Asiatica and Beta glucans to support your skin in being more robust.

What are the best treatment options?

As mentioned, our favourite and very effective treatment for redness and capillaries is IPL. In some cases, we may recommend soothing facials or topical creams to address sensitivity and rosacea.

What triggers can I avoid?

If you are prone to redness, either from rosacea or just general flushing, there are some general triggers to avoid:

  • Hot spicy foods
  • Alcohol
  • Sunburn
  • Cold winds/ freezing temperatures
  • Harsh facial scrubs
  • Improper skin care

What to do next?

Message nurse Ted or nurse Wendy for an initial consultation. We will take diagnostic photos with our Observ 520x machine and assess your skin. From here we can outline the best ways to improve your skin. Book online or message/call 0480 345 479.
